750kW solar canopy scheme, multiple canopy installation across an operational hospital car park
The challenge
Delivering a major infrastructure project in a live hospital environment, with daily staff and patient traffic, strict NHS compliance requirements, and no tolerance for disruption to car park operations.
What we did
Acting as Principal Contractor, Oakhurst Energy delivered a fully integrated design-and-build package including structural steel canopy manufacture, engineered foundations, civil works, inverter and grid integration, and full electrical infrastructure with future EV charging capability. Installation was phased to maintain full hospital operations throughout.
The outcome
Once commissioned, the 750kW system will generate substantial on-site renewable power, offsetting daytime hospital demand, supporting the Trust’s Net Zero targets, and reducing exposure to grid price volatility.
