Most solar projects are
more complicated
than the brochure suggests.
Ask most solar canopy suppliers what they deliver and they will give you a list: panels, structure, inverter, and installation. What that list does not show you is everything that sits between "we would like a solar canopy" and "the system is live and generating electricity for business".
There is the geotechnical survey to confirm your ground conditions. The planning application to your Local Planning Authority. The G99 grid connection application to your Distribution Network Operator, which can take up to six months if the local network needs upgrading. The CDM compliance plan. The commissioning process. The handover documentation.
Most suppliers hand some or all of that back to you. We do not. As a solar power business built around full-service delivery, every item on this page is part of a single, integrated scope of work, managed by us, delivered by us, and accounted for by us.

We handle all planning applications and Distribution Network Operator grid connection processes, including G98 and G99, so you do not have to navigate them yourself.

Every project follows the same structured delivery model. This is what you can expect when you work with Oakhurst Energy, from the initial call to the day we hand over the keys.

Free site assessment
We review your site using desktop data and an initial conversation. Our renewable energy consultants tell you what is achievable, what surveys will be needed, and what the likely output and cost range looks like before you commit to anything.

Surveys and technical validation
Geotechnical, topographical, utility, and shading surveys, whichever your site requires. This is where the detailed engineering begins and where we identify any constraints that need to be resolved.

Design and engineering
Structural calculations, canopy geometry, solar layout, inverter selection, and electrical integration design, all produced in-house, all site-specific. Nothing off the shelf.

Planning and DNO
We submit and manage your planning application to the Local Planning Authority and your G99 grid connection application to your Distribution Network Operator. We track application progress, respond to queries, and resolve issues without escalating them to you unless a decision is needed.

Installation and civils
Groundworks, foundations, structural assembly, and electrical integration executed in phases that protect your site operations throughout. We manage the full construction programme, CDM compliance, and site safety.

Commissioning and handover
Electrical testing, performance verification, monitoring set-up, and client training. You receive a full documentation pack: structural warranty, component warranties, MCS certificate, and maintenance schedule. Then we leave your site clean.
